About Me

Why I was born in India on 09/09/1962 in a small town of The Punjab? Why was I born in a Sikh family? Why was I to be a male? Why was I to marry a girl of same name - Jaspreet? Why was I to have joined Army as an officer? Why was I destined into fighting insurgency in my motherland and get decorated for bravery? Why was I to fly helicopters?
Why was I pushed into solitude on icy heights of battlefield and handed over a brush, a canvas and a few colour tubes by one of my subordinate soldiers in the year 1993? Why was I to have been inspired by an artist to join a regular art college even when actively serving in Army?
And finally why was I to have been initiated into spirituality and follow Guru Nanak's teachings?

The answer to all above is that I had to be what I am today. You can term it to be destiny, fate, life events or whatever, I decipher it to be God's way of getting me to a state where I am trying to delve deep into human soul through my art. Truthfulness, honest living and love are the three messages I would like to spread through my art.

For you to relate to my works, you can call me a warrior artist.
My concept of works
"Whatever is residing deep in our souls manifests itself in our outer world. Words are mere vibrations in the air. Sowing seeds of hatred and expecting nectar in return will be divine injustice."
These teachings of Guru Nanak have brought together my two worlds - my invisible deep core and how I exist in the physical world.
It is on the canvas that my two worlds join and project a third dimension of mine which is the integration of visible and invisible. The marks, textures, hues, all work together to create an environment which pushes one to take a step back from the temporal existence and take a step forward towards the ultimate truth.
My non objective abstraction is a small step towards realisation of one world which is beyond political boundaries, above colour of skin, greener than the green and as pure as the first ray of rising sun.
